MARVAC Partners With Pure Michigan

Fri May 12, 2017

OKEMOS, Michigan - The Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds has teamed up with one of the most popular and successful tourism campaigns in recent history — Pure Michigan — to help explain Michigan’s “Lake Effect.”

“Being the top organization for camping and RVing in the state, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to partner with Pure Michigan, to praise the virtues of lakeside camping,” MARVAC Director Darren Ing says.

As a “passion partner” of Pure Michigan’s Lake Effect summer campaign, MARVAC is represented on the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Pure Michigan website as a featured destination and as such, receives revolving placement on the travel planning site www.michigan.org throughout the summer travel season.

“The efforts of the Pure Michigan campaign coincided with our continuous endeavors to get travelers to explore Michigan from the comforts of an RV and to introduce families to the affordability and benefits of camping,” Ing says.

The MARVAC board of directors determined the Pure Michigan partnership would be of definite value to the campgrounds and RV businesses they represent — reaping the benefits of an estimated $1 million in advertising. The Lake Effect campaign delivers national cable, early morning broadcast and regional ads; pay-for-click campaigns on multiple social media sites and social media promotions.

MARVAC’s tile leads a user to a specific MARVAC page developed to help campers and RVers find campgrounds and activities to enjoy located near water by region and by water activities.

“We are excited to have MARVAC as a partner in our Lake Effect campaign this summer,” Travel Michigan Vice President Dave Lorenz says. “Through collaborative efforts of extolling camping and RVing in Michigan, we will be able to entice more people to enjoy the natural beauty of Michigan.”

The Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds is a statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging growth in the recreation vehicle and private campground industries while contributing to the quality of Michigan tourism.
