RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

State of Iowa Giving Flexsteel $2M in Bid to Keep Company in Dubuque

145469176766681.pngDES MOINES, Iowa — The state of Iowa will give Flexsteel Industries more than $2 million as part of a $10 million bid to keep the furniture company's plant in Dubuque and save most of the site's more than 200 jobs.

The Iowa Economic Development Authority board approved a $2.1 million incentive package for Flexsteel on Friday, The Des Moines Register reported. That includes a $1 million forgivable loan and more than $1 million in tax credits and refunds, according to a story by US News.

In addition to the state award, a lengthy project agreement shows Flexsteel will receive more than $6.5 million in tax incentives over 10 years from the city of Dubuque, more than $1.5 million from Dubuque County in land discounts and $100,000 from Northeast Iowa Community College for workforce training.
