RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Lippert Components Promotes Harbin to Product Supply Analyst

149616682832769.jpgElkhart, Indiana - Lippert Components, Inc. has announced that David Harbin has been promoted to Product Supply Analyst, supporting multiple facilities and product lines.

For more than four years, Harbin's work with LCI has centered on the operations at Plant 203 in Double Springs, Alabama. Within the last two years, Harbin and the team at Plant 203 have helped take inventory from 6.43 to 13.18 turns per year, indicating a superior understanding of product supply and demand as well as inventory control and planning, according to a press release.

In his new role as Product Supply Analyst, Harbin's work will primarily focus on supply planning, inventory replenishment and procurement processes, supporting multiple LCI facilities. Harbin now works with multiple LCI plants, including Plants 203, 209, 210, 214, 241, 74 and 75.

“I want to thank Lippert for the opportunity placed before me," Harbin says. "I am very excited to see what Lippert has in store for the future.”

“David has an incredible work ethic and has continuously put others first to help ensure business goals are met," LCI Vice President of Supply Chain and Purchasing Scott Meiner says. "I’m pleased to congratulate David on this new step in his journey with LCI."

Additionally, Harbin's instrumental role in the deployment of demand and supply planning of LCI’s inventory led to an award in September 2016, naming him Purchasing Agent of the Year.
