RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Oklahoma RV Association Holding 2017 State Convention

The Oklahoma RV Association will hold its 2017 State Convention June 18-19 at the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

This year’s convention will feature a strong slate of speakers to bring ORVA members all the latest news and updates in the industry along with new learning opportunities for their businesses.

The theme for the convention is “Preparing for 2018”. It’s expected to resonate with attendees as they hear from top leaders in the RV industry outlining the opportunities that lie ahead for dealers who are prepared to take their dealership to the next level. Attendees will also receive a special “preparation” package provided by Diversified Insurance Management to motivate their plans for 2018.

The convention opens Sunday with a member golf tournament followed by a welcome reception at the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort. Monday starts the educational segment of the convention which will address current affairs and changes affecting the RV industry as presented by some of the RV industry’s top speakers such as Randy Sobel, Phil Ingrassia, Jay Landers and Bill Koster.

The group will also hear from Pat Mac and Mike Flaverman of “Mac and The Big Cheese”, a nationally recognized speaker duo and entertainer on Monday who is sure to supercharge them with their presentation titled “Follow Your Dream”. Mac and The Big Cheese will also be the featured entertainment for the President’s Banquet with their famous live show called: Mac and The Big Cheese and The Ultimate Outdoor Cooking Show. This is a professional comedy cooking show which combines live stand up and instructional cooking. The two celebrity comedian chefs have more than 37 years of national touring stand up experience between them. This comedy duo (The Abbott and Costello of comedy cooking) has been seen on TruTV, Travel Channel, WGN, heard on NPR Splendid Table and been on local affiliates hundreds of times demonstrating their hilarious approach to cooking and their love and knowledge of outdoor cuisine. This show is becoming the most wanted and requested live cooking show around the world.

Also, the members will hear from a panel discussion on current legislative issues in the industry presented by Roy Dockum, Executive Director of Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Commission, Jay Landers, RVIA Government Affairs and Phil Ingrassia, President, RVDA.

On Monday evening after a busy cocktail reception which will feature the culmination of a special donor silent auction and 50/50 money match campaign to raise funds for the dealer association, the President’s Banquet Gala will take place. This will then be followed by the special entertainment featuring “Mac and The Big Cheese”.
