The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

The RVDA Board of Directors has selected Dan Pearson of PleasureLand RV Centers, headquartered in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to serve as co-chairman of the Go RVing Coalition. Pearson replaces Tom Stinnett, of Tom Stinnett’s Campers Inn in Clarksville, Indiana. Stinnett was RVDA’s first co-chair and a key leader of the coalition since its inception.
Pearson is a participating past RVDA chairman on the RVDA Board of Delegates. He also serves as vice chairman of the Mike Molino RV Learning Center and received the James B. Summers award, RVDA’s highest honor, in 2001. PleasureLand regularly provides units for Go RVing consumer and media events – most recently at the very successful Go RVing display at the Minnesota State Fair in 2016.
“Go RVing is one of the great success stories in the RV industry and I am honored to be part of moving the industry’s national advertising and marketing program forward,” Pearson says. "I also want to thank Tom Stinnett for his many years of service to the coalition and to dealers. He has been an outstanding leader and spokesman for Go RVing.”
The Go RVing Coalition, formed in 1994, consists of RV manufacturers, component suppliers, dealers and campgrounds. Go RVing works to provide the public and media with pertinent information about the benefits of RV travel. Go RVing works to provide the public and media with general information about the benefits of RV travel and camping and to foster customer satisfaction with the RV experience.
The Coalition was formed by representatives of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association, Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association, National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds and leading state RV and campground associations to distribute information about the benefits of RV travel and ensure the quality of RV products and services.
