RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Universal Trailer Corp. Hires New Plant Manager

Bristol, Indiana - Universal Trailer Corporation has announced the addition of Cliff Stewart to the Cargo Group.

Stewart will be working as Plant Manager of the Country Road 4 facility in Bristol, Indiana and will report directly to Jeff Campbell, vice president of Operations.
Stewart brings with him an extensive resume of manufacturing and operations leadership experience.

“I am very excited to be one of the new team members to join the UTC team,” Stewart says. "I look forward to developing a high performance team that encourages employee engagement and individual development. In addition, my goal will be to champion the growth of lean manufacturing systems with a focus on customer satisfaction through superior quality and on time delivery.”

Most recently, Stewart worked for Benteler Automotive where he held the positions of ‘Continuous Improvement Manager,’ ‘North American Operations Improvement Manger,’ and ‘Operations Manager.’ He holds a Bachelor of Business in Production Operations Management and a Master of Science in Quality Engineering from Eastern Michigan University.

Stewart's knowledge and experience in building lean organizations, employee involvement, safety, quality, productivity, delivery and cost savings initiatives will enable the Bristol CR4 team to continue its progress in driving improvements.
