RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

America's Largest RV Show Announces Education Lineup

145279421656314.gifCamp Hill, Pennsylvania - America’s Largest RV Show in Hershey has announced a quality-packed education line-up for 2017. This year, Monday, Sept. 11 will be an Education Day. The show’s industry exhibits will open Tuesday, Sept. 12 to include training events as well. The show, managed by the Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association is held at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania and will open to the public Sept. 13–17.

This year’s schedule includes technician training from Cummins, Reese (Horizon Global), Truma, Norcold, Thetford, Marshall Excelsior and Xantrex. Gary Bunzer will also be conducting a PDI Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts session. Training qualifies for recertification hours. In addition to technician training, Keller Marine and RV will host a Selling Accessories in the Internet Age seminar and a Workamper Employer Clinic by Steve Anderson of Workamper News.

The cost of the training varies per session, but is free to PRVCA members.

MEMBERSHIP DINNER
An evening of fun and networking will start the show off right. PRVCA members, show attendees and exhibitors are invited to a free dinner at the Antique Auto Museum. Enjoy happy hour on Monday, Sept. 11 with a tour of the museum followed by dinner, silent auction and meet and greet with NFL’s Fred Biletnikoff. Autographed photos, footballs and mini helmets will be available for purchase. All monies raised will benefit the PRV PAC fund to aid in legislative initiatives in Pennsylvania. Registration is required.

PDI – THE TIPS, TRICKS & SHORTCUTS

In this session, learn all the tricks to performing quick, efficient and complete Pre Delivery Inspections (PDI) on any recreational vehicle, new or used. Presented by RV Hall of Famer Gary Bunzer, the RV Doctor, this class also features two Hands-On exercises performing the code required leak tests for the fresh water system and the propane system using specialty test devices. Designed for all RV service technicians, this class conforms to the standards of the NFPA 1192 and the RVIA/RVDA Certification Exam.

WORKAMPER EMPLOYEE CLINIC

In this combination diesel engine and generator session, Duane Fisk from Cummins Onan and Chris Crowel from Cummins Inc. will address the most frequently asked questions about RV generators and Cummins diesel powered motorhome drive engines. Learn about proper maintenance, operating techniques, exercising, dash lamps, fuel economy, common issues and service resources. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

CONVERT YOUR CONVERTER TO A SMART INVERTER/CHARGER WITH XANTREX

Xantrex is often asked about installing an inverter/charger to replace an existing converter or battery charger. A quality 3-stage charger can charge batteries more effectively than a static converter, making the batteries last longer, naturally.

Some brands of converters have historically suffered in reliability and quality. So, it becomes even more important for RV Dealers and installers to offer the choice of upgrading to an inverter/charger when they come across a broken converter, which happens too frequently. This training session will instruct you on how to successfully replace an existing converter.

TRUMA TRAINING

This training will cover all aspects of the electronic models of Norcold Refrigerators with hands on (by use of training mock ups). It will also cover the Electronic Toilets. Attendees will also be supplied with a manual that covers the Norcold Refrigerators.

TROUBLESHOOTING & BETTER UNDERSTANDING LP GAS SYSTEMS & COMPONENTS WITH MARSHALL EXCELSIOR
