Mon Jun 19, 2017

ELKHART, Indiana — A garage startup selling heating systems to the RV industry is in second-generation hands 50 years later, with a third now involved as well.

D&W Inc. marked its 50th anniversary Friday. The company makes specialty mirror, glass and injection-molded products at its Oak Street facility, and continues to make the over-the-floor ducting system for recreational vehicles that Dudley Warning sold out of his Eastlake Drive home in 1967, according to a story by The Elkhart Truth.

Dudley Warning was involved in the refrigeration business for 30 years before he developed the heating system, which his son, Tony Warning, said takes advantage of unused cabin space while directing heat throughout the vehicle. It also eliminated the need to have a heating register in the way.
