It’s been 25 years since Passport America launched its 50 percent camping discount club, and the organization is going stronger than ever.

Ray Fernandez, Dresden Fernandez and Vernon Simmons started Passport America, and today it remains a family-run operation with Dresden (now Simmons) and two of Vernon’s sons helping to run the growing operation, according to a story by Woodall's Campground Management.

Today, the club boasts more than 200,000 members and 1,900 campgrounds, and it offers more than ever. In 2010, Passport America began offering rallies for members.
