RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Fourth of July Shaping Up to Break KOA Campground Records

The Fourth of July holiday is shaping up to be another in the string of record-breaking 2017 holidays at the 500 Kampgrounds of America locations in North America.

Advanced reservations show that occupancy at KOA parks for the Fourth of July holiday is up 8.5 percent over the same period last year.

Numbers are also up for this weekend's Canada Day celebration, which occurs Saturday, July 1. Canada Day numbers are up 9.2 percent over last year's totals.

The increases continues a record trend for KOA campgrounds in 2017. Occupancy for KOA's Care Camps Big Weekend in May were up 4.5 percent while occupancy for this year's Memorial Day Weekend were up nearly 5 percent.

Labor Day Weekend advanced reservations are also up nearly 23 percent over advanced reservations at this time last year.

Overall, 2017 KOA camping thus far is up more than 4 percent over the total for 2016 at this time. KOA is currently on track for its sixth record year in a row over it's 55-year history.
