Jason Industries Bids Farewell to Truck Cap Division

Wed Jul 5, 2017

ELKHART, Indiana — A local company that has produced truck caps for the past 45 years is preparing to shift its focus to the recreational vehicle and marine industries.

Jason Industries, Inc. owner Jason Franklin says that the company, located at 1500 West Lusher Avenue, was selling its truck cap division to ATC Truck Covers, an Ottawa, Kansas-based company. The move will affect 70 workers in Elkhart, some of which will be moved to other divisions, but Franklin says a few layoffs are expected, according to a story by the Elkhart Truth.

The company is set to focus more on its custom pontoon and towable RV cap divisions.
