Lippert Plans Expansion in Mishawaka That Could Add 200 Jobs

Wed Jul 5, 2017

MISHAWAKA, Indiana — Lippert Components could add 200 jobs in the next two years if it follows through on renovating and using the former AM General warehouse at 400 S. Byrkit Ave. and a property to the east.

The company, which supplies parts for recreational vehicles and boats, could invest about $9 million on the expansion. On Wednesday the Mishawaka Common Council will first vote on 10-year abatements for real and personal property taxes at the site, according to a story by the South Bend Tribune.

The city estimates the abatement could save Lippert more than $1.5 million in taxes over the next 10 years, leaving the company to pay more than $1 million.
