Fourth of July Attendance at KOA Increases by 5.2 Percent in 2017

Fri Jul 7, 2017

Kampgrounds of America parks continued its 2017 record-breaking pace during the recent Fourth of July holiday.

Results released by KOA this week showed the Fourth of July campground attendance at the nearly 500 KOA locations in North America was up more than 5.2 percent over the Fourth of July results in 2016.

The Fourth of July results continue a string of 2017 holiday record results for KOA. May's KOA Care Camps Big Weekend netted an increase of 4.5 percent in camping; Memorial Day Weekend was up 4.7 percent; and Father's Day Weekend was up nearly 2 percent over last year.

The July 1 Canada Day celebration results were also up 2 percent over 2016.

"Camping is a much-sought-after leisure activity for North Americans, and KOA campgrounds are doing a great job of taking care of our campers," KOA CEO and President Pat Hittmeier says.

KOA is on pace for a sixth straight record year of performance in 2017.
