RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Thor Hires Director of Community Engagement

145382602566676.pngELKHART, Ind. - Thor Industries, Inc. has announced that it has hired Rick Schutt as Director of Community Engagement. In his newly created role, Schutt will be responsible for developing stronger relationships with school and community leaders to promote the RV industry and enhance Thor's ability to positively impact the areas where its subsidiaries currently operate.

"In connection with implementing our strategic plan, we identified the need to leverage Thor's key strengths within the communities where our subsidiaries operate. Schutt was most recently a lead news anchor for WSBT-TV CBS in South Bend, Indiana. Previously, Schutt served as an anchor at WICD-TV ABC in Champaign, Illinois and WSJV-TV Fox 28 in South Bend. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health, with a concentration in Business, and holds certification from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
