RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Fire at PleasureLand RV Center causes $150,000 in damage

A blaze drawing more than two dozen area firefighters to PleasureLand RV Center in Brainerd, Minnesota caused in excess of $150,000 in damages.

The Brainerd Fire Department was called at at 9:34 p.m. Monday to a report of a camper on fire at the business at 17395 Highway 371, north of Baxter in Unorganized Territory. The caller reported the camper was on fire and was parked near another camper, the fire department said in a news release.

Fire crews arrived on scene and found a fifth-wheel-style camper fully engulfed in fire. The park model camper next to it also started on fire. Both campers were parked inside the service area of the business in a secure area outside of the building, according to a story by the Brainerd Dispatch.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
