RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

RVIA Announces 2017 Show Registration Is Open

The event, held Nov. 27–30 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky, features the largest concentration of recreation vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, dealers and campground managers in the world.

“The National RV Trade Show is where the entire RV industry gathers to celebrate and showcase the RV lifestyle, discover new products and engage with key stakeholders and corporate leaders,” RVIA Senior Vice President of Trade Shows and Events Liz Crawford says. Attendees at the 2017 National RV Trade Show will have the opportunity to see thousands of RVs from all brands and comparison shop what to carry at their dealerships. Educational content at the show includes showcasing the best ways to merchandise innovative, new products in RV dealerships and special sales training courses that prepare RV dealers to increase sales volume. In addition, RV techs can receive hands-on training on the newest products on the market.

In addition to dealer sales and marketing education occurring on Monday, Nov. 27, below are the exhibit hall hours for the 2017 National RV Trade Show:

Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The 2017 National RV Trade Show has been completely redesigned with new events such as:

RV Industry Awards: Held Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mercury Ballroom in downtown Louisville, this event is designed to bring recognition to the total RV Industry - dealers, manufacturers and suppliers. The event is a partnership with RVDA, who will be presenting its DSI/Quality Circle Awards, RV Business, who will be presenting the magazine's RV of the Year award and RVIA, who will be presenting a brand-new Leadership Award, designed to recognize an outstanding leader in the industry. Nominations for this new award are being accepted on RVIAShow.org.

Outlook 2018: No one knows the RV industry like RVIA, and the annual Outlook Breakfast is where RVIA shares key insights on industry trends and opportunities. Taking place Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., the 2017 event will feature a new recognition program, “40 Under 40.” RVIA will announce the first annual "40 Under 40 Awards" which identify both current and future leaders in the RV industry who are under 40 years of age.

Top Tech Challenge: Held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the Pavilion at KEC, the Top Tech Challenge is a competition designed to bring excitement, fun and recognition to the top RV technicians in the industry. Eight of the top service techs in the industry will compete over three rounds to determine who is the fastest at diagnosing RV service issues. The winner of the competition will be crowned the Top Tech and receive a trophy and get to share a $10,000 grand prize with his or her dealership.

Supplier Showcase: The Supplier Showcase, held Thursday, Nov. 30, will be a designated event for RV manufacturers to visit RV supplier booths at the show. Getting these two major players in the industry together will only increase the innovation in future iterations of RVs that consumers are looking for.
