Camping World CEO Apologizes to Employees For Comments

Fri Aug 25, 2017

SHERMAN, Texas - The CEO of Gander Mountain and Camping World was in Sherman Thursday to speak to the employees of Sherman's Camping World store, apologizing for statements he made about the recent violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

"There's been a lot of controversy in the media in the last couple of weeks about statements I made and didn't make and the store manager of Sherman called me and asked me to address the store employees and customers," CEO Marcus Lemonis said, according to a story by KXII.com.

Last week, Lemonis said several controversial statements about President Donald Trump’s comments on the violence that happened in Virginia during a White Supremacist rally. Some of Lemonis’s comments inferred that that he did not want people who supported his stance to shop at his businesses.

"I apologize to my employees for putting them in this situation,” Lemonis says. “It was irresponsible, disrespectful and it was a mistake."
