The Adventurer Group Donates to Canadian Wildfire Relief Efforts

Tue Aug 29, 2017

CANADA – As British Columbia continues to battle the largest recorded wildfires in the province’s history, Canada’s largest RV dealer group has banded together to aid the displaced residents and communities that have been impacted by this record-breaking tragedy.

RV companies in The Adventurer Group – Fraserway RV (Alta., British Columbia, North Saskatchewan, Ontario and Yukon Territory), Country RV (British Columbia) and Travelhome RV (British Columbia) – is raising funds for Samaritan’s Purse Canada and Canadian Red Cross. They have committed to:

• Donate $1,500 from every RV sold in British Columbia
• Donate 10 percent of retail parts sold
• Donate 10 percent of retail rental bookings from the British Columbia rental locations
• Donate $750 from every RV sold at any of the seven dealerships outside of British Columbia
• Offer a $1,000 credit on an Adventurer Group Cash Card for evacuated or displaced residents purchasing an RV
• Match donations dollar-for-dollar by 800+ employees within The Adventurer Group

“Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all of the victims of the fires,” The Adventurer Group Campaign Spokesperson Amanda Henschell says. “I want to thank and acknowledge the teams at all 13 participating dealerships for their contributions to these trusted organizations. Samaritan’s Purse Canada, Canadian Red Cross and other qualified registered community organizations are maintaining a strong presence in the affected areas. They must meet our standards prior to us releasing and allocating the funds. This will help us ensure that the funds will efficiently and effectively make a tangible difference in these tragic circumstances.”

The Adventurer Group raised $448,022 in 2016 for the northern Alberta fire relief efforts, donating funds to Canadian Red Cross and Samaritan’s Purse Canada as well as the city of Fort McMurray to build a full interactive playground in the city’s newest school. The four Alberta dealers – Fraserway RV in Calgary, Lacombe, Edmonton and Leduc – partnered with Canadian Red Cross and Samaritan’s Purse Canada in 2013 for the Calgary flood relief efforts, raising $291,630. Fraserway RV Abbotsford also supplied three motorhomes to Samaritan’s Purse Canada as command centers to coordinate relief efforts following the 2012 wildfires in Slave Lake, British Columbia.

The Adventurer Group operates business units across Canada and continues to maintain its commitment that its customers’ vacation dreams are realized since 1969. Collectively, The Adventurer Group offers expertise in RV sales, parts, service and rentals.
