RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Winegard Releases Redesigned Satellite HDTV Antennas

150462642953842.jpgBurlington, Iowa — Antenna manufacturer Winegard introduces the newly redesigned DISH Playmaker and DISH Playmaker Dual Automatic Satellite HDTV Antennas. The antennas are developed for DISH Network’s high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) programming. The new antennas let users watch DISH Pay-As-You-Go programming and are available through RV dealerships nationwide and Camping World Supercenters, starting at $249.00 MSRP.

Major changes include a new reflector design that can increase signal strength up to 20 percent, an accessory kit that provides the ability to permanently mount the antenna to an RV roof, and the addition of the Dual models to allow for multiple receiver viewing.

“Winegard has a history of developing high-quality products aimed at increasing the quality of life for our mobile consumers,” Keith Larson, director of mobile sales and marketing for consumer products, said in a release. “The new line of DISH Playmakers stays true to that, giving users increased performance and different options of utilizing the system to fit their specific needs.”

Some additional DISH Playmaker features:

  • Powered by coax connection through DISH Solo HD receiver.

  • Single- and dual-output models.

  • A handle for carrying.

  • Compact size: 7 pounds, 16-inch diameter, 13 inches high

The antennas are designed and built in Winegard’s Burlington, Iowa factory and are backed by Winegard’s two-year parts, one-year labor warranty.

For use with two receivers:
PL-8000 – DISH Playmaker Dual - White, $299 MSRP

The company’s website indicates that the Dual models are backordered at this time, and Winegard Marketing Manager Andy Crowner says they’ll be available in about a week.

The antennas are also compatible with Winegard’s new roof kit (RK-4000, $49.99 MSRP) and existing TR-1518 tripod mount.
