The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Camping at more than 500 Kampgrounds of America locations was up nearly 3.5 percent over the recent Labor Day Weekend.
The growth in Labor Day Weekend camping over 2016 results was all the more impressive when the adverse affects of Hurricane Harvey are taken into account. The storm and its aftermath severely impacted camping activity in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and several other states.
The Labor Day Weekend KOA camping figures continued a string of record-breaking holiday results for KOA, the world's largest and most popular system of family campgrounds.
Camping for the May 12-13 Care Camps Big Weekend event were up 4.4 percent, while camping for Memorial Day Weekend were up nearly 5 percent over camping results in 2016.
Father's Day Weekend camping was up nearly 1.5 percent over last year, while Independence Day found 5.2 percent more families camping at KOAs.
For the entire 2017 calendar year, KOA camping is up more than 6.2 percent in short-term camping occupancy.
Kampgrounds of America's final system-wide special weekend will be Value Kard Awards Appreciation Weekend Sept.15-16. KOA Value Kard Rewards members who camp as paying guests on Friday, Sept. 15 will receive a free night of camping on Saturday, Sept. 16 at participating KOAs.
