The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

ELKHART, Ind. – Dometic is once again hosting an event for RV dealers, distributors, OEMs and the media, which will take place Monday, Sept. 18, from 4-7 p.m. at a new location, Dometic’s Corporate Headquarters, located at 1120 N. Main St. in Elkhart and the Wellfield Botanical Gardens across the street from Dometic.
The theme, “Roadtrip across America” will allow attendees to visit five destinations in the garden, each representing a different region of the country.
Attendees will make their way through the garden and experience tantalizing creations from each of the destinations as prepared by Celebrity Chef Kevin Roberts and Villa Macri.
Roberts, previous host of TLC’s BBQ PitMasters and star of the new series Grill of Victory, travels the country with Dometic to trade and retail shows to give live demonstrations on how to properly prepare delicious dishes on an RV appliance.
The five destinations include:
• Northeast—Hamptons themed
• South—New Orleans themed
• Southwest—Tex Mex themed
• West Coast—Pacific Coast themed
• Mid-West—America’s Heartland themed.
Along with the numerous food options, specialty cocktails have been created and local beers selected to embody each region.
The Dometic fifth wheel will be located in the Mid-West destination of the gardens where Roberts will be showcasing the various recipes.
Three bands will also be performing throughout the garden, including Rock & Roll band, K.G.B., Country band, High Life and a Jazz Band made up of three independent musicians; Danny Lerman, Tim Grant and Hendri Lamiri.
“We are thrilled for the opportunity to take part in the Open House week,” Senior Vice President of RV OEM Sales Dave Schutz says. “We chose to kick off the week on Monday night with our event before the big OEM festivities.”
Prior to visiting gardens, attendees are invited to visit the Dometic Headquarters, located across the street from the gardens, to see the product showcase, including new items such as the CFX-75DZW and the CFX-100W Portable Refrigerator/Freezer.
