Quartzsite, Ariz. - RVers all over the country and Canadian provinces are marking their calendars for the 2018 show schedule in Quartzsite, Arizona. This tiny desert hamlet bursts at the seams each January when tens of thousands of RVs converge on Quartzsite for the huge gem & mineral shows, swap meets and flea markets that take place there each winter.
One of the largest and most popular venues is the Quartzsite Sports Vacation & RV Show. Now in its 35th year, this huge event takes place inside, and around, “THE BIG TENT", located just 1/2 mile South of Interstate 10 on State Highway 95 (700 S. Central). This year, the dates for the 35th Annual Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show are Jan. 20-28 and the hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
This spectacular event is situated right next to the largest gem & mineral event in Quartzsite and there is a large, full-hook-up campground directly across the street from the main entrance. There also are thousands of RVs dry camping on their southern and western borders on BLM land. The Quartzsite Pow-Wow, the original Gem and Mineral Show, that started this whole phenomenon in 1967, typically open midway through the 9-day RV Show.
There is no charge for admission or parking at this popular event that is now billed as "The Largest Consumer Attended RV Show in the USA". The attendance for the 2017 show was estimated at more than 100,000 with more than 350 exhibits inside, and around, the 70,000 square foot, and fully carpeted structure.
"If you're looking for anything related to RVs, camping and travel, you'll find it at our RV show in Quartzsite,” Promoter Kenny King says. “There will be hundreds of new and used RVs on display and sale in 2018 and over a dozen service bays will be offering immediate installation, repairs and service on many of the items that will be exhibited during the show.”
In 2017, there were numerous tourism-related exhibits from the USA, Canada, Mexico and Europe as well as representatives from dozens of the nation’s finest RV resorts and campgrounds. There were many "workamper" recruiters from the National Parks and private campgrounds from all over the nation in attendance and they included several national parks including Yellowstone.
"The number and diversity of exhibits that you'll find at the Quartzsite RV Show will not be found at any other show of this type in the United States,” King says.
With the much-improved economy, lower fuel prices, exhibitor signups are up significantly for 2018 with exhibit space selling briskly. This usually indicates that there will be a big spike in consumer attendance as well.
