ELKHART, Ind. – The city of Elkhart is once again teaming up with Lippert Components for a park beautification day. About 600 employees are expected to participate in the event on Oct. 7 and will assist the Elkhart Parks and Recreation Department with various park improvement projects.
The collaboration is part of the Lippert Components 100,000 Hours of Community Service Initiative, announced by CEO Jason Lippert this past January. It is also a key component of the city’s ongoing efforts to maintain the safety and cleanliness of the parks system, according to a story by The Elkhart Truth.
“Lippert Components is excited to partner with the Elkhart Parks Department for our second Community Day,” Lippert Components Director of Philantrhopic Partnerships Michilah Grimes says. “The parks provide wonderful outdoor spaces for families to enjoy together. We are happy to be a small part of keeping them clean and beautiful so everyone can enjoy them.”
Lippert employees will be stationed at seven locations, including Bicentennial, High Dive, Island, Langle, McNaughton, Studebaker and Willowdale Parks. Crews will assist with power washing the exterior of park pavilions, adding mulch in playground areas, touching up paint on light poles, trimming foliage and other general maintenance.
