RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Prevost Appoints New VPGM

150756367873766.jpgPrevost has announced Guy French as the new vice president and general manager for Services for Prevost and Nova Bus; following the retirement of long-time leader Clay Flynt. He departed the role at the end of September after 33 years with the Volvo Group, including 10 as Prevost Aftermarket VPGM.

Flynt oversaw the expansion of the Prevost Parts and Service Network to its current position today as the premier service network in the industry, according to a press release.

“We would like to thank Clay for his dedication and passion,” Nova Bus President and Volvo Bus for the America Vice President Ralph Acs says. “He instilled a lot of trust and team spirit throughout the entire organization and it has been an immense privilege working with him.”

“Guy has been part of the team for the past 26 years and has been instrumental in helping to shape and develop the Services business,” Flynt says. “We worked together over the last 10 years and helped to build a culture of customer care, customer uptime, parts availability and growing the service network; including introducing service vans to bring our customer care to the customer’s doorstep.”

“I am very pleased with the announcement of Guy,” Acs says. “His extensive experience, knowledge of the business and care for our customers make Guy the natural choice.
