Even small amounts of moisture in the air can cause serious harm to stored items. Often unseen until it's too late, rust, corrosion, mold, mildew and wood rot can cause irreparable damage.
Davis Instruments has introduced the Air-Dryr, which circulates thermal convections of warm air, and is designed to eliminate traces of dampness and the resultant odors from enclosed spaces. UL-listed, it's ideal for boats, RVs and autos, stored musical instruments, gun safes, vaults, basements or anyplace humidity exceeds 50 percent.
Without a fan, thermostat or any moving part, Air-Dryr is maintenance-free and completely silent. Built to run 24/7, the durable polycarbonate housing is safe to the touch. It simply plugs into a standard 110-volt grounded outlet. A built-in safety device turns off the unit if air flow becomes impeded.
The device is available in two compact sizes. Air-Dryr 1000 has a 130-watt heating element and protects up to 1,000 cubic feet of space. It draws just 1.1 amps, and measures 13.5 inches in diameter by 4.25 inches high.
Air-Dryr 500 has a 70-watt heating element and handles up to 500 cubic feet. It draws only 0.6 amps and measures 14 inches long by 5 inches wide by .45 inches high.
Davis Instruments' Air-Dryr 1000 costs $69.99; Air-Dryr 500 is $59.99.
