RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Two Executives Out at REV Group

150964815467188.jpgREV Group Inc. has confirmed that two of its executive personnel have resigned their positions.

The company confirmed Thursday that Jim Jacobs has resigned his position of president of the REV RV Group. Company personnel declined comment on the story, deferring to its company headquarters in Milwaukee.

Jacobs, when contacted by RV News, also declined to comment.

Jacobs had served as president since June 2015. Prior to his position with REV, he had served as president of Dynamax since 2014 and serving in various positions with Jayco Inc. for 12 years, including roles as vice president of sales and marketing with Starcraft RV, Entegra Coach and Jayco Motorhome Group, finishing as the chief operations officer.

Additionally, REV Group Chief Operations Officer Thomas Phillips has notified the company of his retirement from his position, effective Oct. 31.

Phillips had served as COO since February 2016 and was responsible for all corporate sourcing, quality, materials management and operations, according to the company website.

Before his appointment as COO, he worked as a consultant to REV from July 2015 to January 2016 and prior to that, worked for Bucyrus International for 35 years, retiring as COO in 2006.
