Truma, Atlas Trailer Coach Partner for Canada Distribution of AquaGo

Mon Nov 6, 2017

150723607734838.jpgELKHART, Ind. – Truma Gerätetechnik GmbH & Co. KG (Truma) announced a partnership with Atlas Trailer Coach Products Ltd (Atlas), headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, as the parts manufacturer's first national RV-parts distributor. Truma offers a product portfolio in the fields of heating, water and air conditioning systems as well as LP and power supply. Truma also manufactures maneuvering systems for travel trailers. The company headquarters and production site are located in Putzbrunn, Germany.

Atlas will carry the Truma AquaGo instant water heater for aftermarket sales to dealer members and is available for purchase through Atlas's online parts catalogue, www.atlastrailer.com. It will also be listed in their upcoming 2018 catalogue.

"We have maintained a direct-to-dealer model for the last four years," says Mark Howlett, senior vice president of business development with Truma. "After visiting with Atlas several times in Calgary and at various shows throughout the past few years, we felt Atlas and their team embodied similar values and were open to a partnership which would allow Truma to maintain a close relationship with the dealers. Customer service is still paramount to us and ensuring our equipment is installed and operating correctly is critical to the end customers experience."

Truma will continue to provide direct technical training to dealers, both hands on and through their call centers, Truma says in a statement.

"As we have continued to expand our market presence as standard equipment in Luxury RV's, we have seen an increased awareness from dealers in Canada and inquiries from RV owners to upgrade their vehicles with a Truma AquaGo instant water heater. With Atlas as a partner we will be able reach those consumers," Howlett says. "We will be attending the RVDA Trouble-Shooter Clinic in Toronto in December and a training event at Okanagan College in Kelowna, British Columbia, in January with hands-on technical training for dealer technicians. Awareness has spiked over the last year, and we feel Atlas is the right partner for us in Canada."

Art Tischer, general manager of Atlas says the partnership is right for his company: "We are excited to bring new technologies, innovation and quality products to our customer base. We have been in business since 1970 and being family run, like Truma, was definitely a determining factor. This partnership allows Atlas to focus on our core competencies of distribution, sales and marketing programs and leverage our relationships across the Canadian RV Dealer market."

Atlas Trailer Coach operates four distribution warehouses in Vancouver, Calgary, London and Montreal and says it ensures drastically reduced shipping times while managing the import process. Truma will participate in The Atlas Niagara Festival 2018 Buying Show, November 14-15 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
