RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Thetford Co-Sponsors Top Tech Challenge at RVIA

149996378047893.jpgANN ARBOR, Mich. – Thetford/Norcold is a co-sponsor ofs a new attraction at this year's National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Nov. 27-30: the Top Tech Challenge, a contest among eight professionals vying to be crowned the "Top Tech of the Year."

Barry Eckel, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, said that Thetford/Norcold is proud to be one of four inaugural Challenge co-sponsors.

"We have a long history of appreciation for and support of Field Service Techs," he said. "As an industry leader in service training, we're thrilled to have been involved with this event from the very beginning.

"Behind every RVer who loves the lifestyle there's a Service Technician keeping their RV in tip-top condition," Eckel added. "We're proud to recognize this – and those Service Techs – with our Challenge sponsorship."

The Challenge is open to service professionals with at least five year's experience. During the competition, they will diagnose seven different types of RV technical service issues – as fast as possible – live and in front of a cheering crowd.

Eight Technicians will begin the Opening Round on Nov. 27, with the top three advancing to compete in the Championship Round on Nov. 29. Top Tech Challenge judges are highly-qualified RV industry experts in the field of the specific component being diagnosed. The Challenge winner will receive a $10,000 grand prize and trophy.
