RVDA of Canada Board Elects Jean-Francois Lussier as Chairman

Mon Nov 13, 2017

151035020472729.jpgJean-Francois Lussier of Horizon Lussier in Marieville, Quebec has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada. Horizon Lussier is a family-owned and operated RV dealership that prides itself in providing quality products and exceptional customer service for RV enthusiasts which has been in business for more than 50 years.

Lussier has been involved in the family business since the young age of 13 where he held numerous jobs in the business that represented several different types of leisure vehicles: Bombardier snowmobiles, Pinecraft boats and Mercury outboard motors, and eventually RVs. In the early 1980's, the dealership began to solely sell RVs and became Roulottes Jean Lussier, named after Jean-Francois' father. The dealership began to add motorized vehicles to its established towables line as well as other camping accessories.

Lussier and his brothers bought the family business from their parents in 1985. He became the sole proprietor in 2016. Today, he oversees the operations of Horizon Lussier and has nearly 70 employees on the staff.

Over the years, the sale of motorhomes became such a substantial part of the dealership's business model that the owners decided to change the business name to something that evoked both travel trailer and motorhomes. In 1997, the business finally opted for "Horizon Lussier," which plays on the idea of travel and the great outdoors.

The dealership has been a member of the RVDA of Quebec since the beginning and has now participated in provincial and national association efforts in several capacities. Lussier has been president of the RVDA of Quebec; has sat on the national education committee and has served on the board of the RVDA of Canada since 2010.
