Progressive Dynamics advised RV owners and dealers that the company now provides lithium converter/charger units to update an RV to a lithium-ion battery system. For recreational vehicles that presently have Progressive Dynamics PD9100 or PD9200 lead/acid models installed, owners and dealers can replace them with Progressive Dynamics PD9100L floor-mount models with the same output-current rating, according to a product announcement from the company.
Those RVs with Progressive Dynamics PD4000 or PD4500 wall-mount units installed can also be upgraded to a lithium-powered RV by easily replacing only the present lead/acid converter section with a lithium section. These replacement units are designed for use with lithium iron phosphate batteries only and provide the proper CC/CV (Constant Current/Constant Voltage) charge profile as recommended by battery manufacturers.
The company's product announcement says lithium upgrades are also available for other manufacturer's units. For more information, the announcement directs those interested to visit progressivedyn.com then click on "Lithium Battery Chargers" to see a list of replacement model numbers and approved lithium battery distributors. These distributors can supply both approved lithium batteries and the new Progressive Dynamics lithium converter/charger replacements.
