The company will initially roll out three floorplans in the new fifth wheel model, which will include a rear living room model and two front bath models, according to Vanleigh Vice President of Sales Steve Troyer.

The Beacon follows Vanleigh’s successful Vilano and comes equipped with standard features that distinguish it from other fifth wheels in its segment. Troyer says the company saw a hole in the marketplace in the luxury fifth wheel segment that was still at a reasonable price point.

“We piggy back off the Tiffin buying power. Our plans were to be a full-line towable manufacturer, so this Beacon seemed to be a natural step for where we were wanting to go,” Troyer says. “We felt there was a vacuum in the market.”

The Beacon offers a full body paint and high gloss ultra-sheen wood finish on solid hardwood cabinetry. It offers spacious countertops and a hand grouted residential backsplash.

Other standard features on the Beacon include:

• Dual Pane Windows
• Traveler Satellite Prep
• Dishwasher Prep
• Electric Power Cord Reel
• Day and Night Shades
• Second Patio Awning
• 8k Axels with Electric Brakes
• Westlake “H” Rated Tires
• 7-inch Spyder Controls Multiplex System with Color Screen
• 18 cubic-feet Whirlpool Refrigerator with Ice and Water in Door

With consolidations in other segments of the market, Troyer says Vanleigh RV has become the largest privately held fifth wheel manufacturer in the country after just two and a half years. That means the company can offer different customer service than those in the public sector, he says.

“We can offer a lot to customer service and to how parts are handled,” Troyer says. “We can offer a whole new personal touch. We don’t have to close out our books every month for shareholders. Also, our decisions are made on a personal level. We have a direct cell phone directly to our customer service department. We can offer additional support from the factory, which is almost unheard of.”

Troyer says the preliminary response from dealers and customers has been very good, as the company is already taking orders and the backlog has been increasing quickly.
