RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Ally to Host RV Dealer Webinar on Effective Forecasting

DETROIT – Ally Financial will provide RV dealers with a free webinar on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. EST created to empower dewalers to forecast effectively. The webinar will provide dealers with tools needed to more accurately monitor their business results, which can reveal trends and pinpoint potential issues.

"By providing comprehensive and proven training, we can help our dealers succeed and prepare them for the most important issues facing our industry," said Jim Whiteford, Executive director of learning and development for the Ally Academy, Ally's dealer training team.

Bill Tierney, an Ally trainer with more than 30 years in the automotive business, will lead the webinar, which will begin with a 30‐minute lecture and then follow with a session of open questions and answers.

The webinar will cover the following topics:

  • Why dealers should forecast

  • Who should be involved in creating the forecast

  • How often to forecast


During the webinar, Tierney will focus on superior customer service and helping dealers succeed. This dealer webinar is provided by Ally, a Silver Partner for the 2017 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo, with the support of the Mike Molino RV Learning Center.
