The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

AUSTIN, Texas — RVshare, a peer-to-peer RV-rental online marketplace, announced today the comapny is opening an office in Austin, Texas.
Since launching in 2013, RVshare has grown rapidly, and its current Akron, Ohio, office is home to more than 50 employees.
CEO and co-founder Joel Clark expects RVshare’s Austin-based team to grow quickly to a similar size and be the driving force behind RVshare’s future growth.
The Austin office also will be home to several new key executives for the company.
“There is so much top-tier, marketplace-specific talent in Austin, and the tech community — we believe— is the best in the country right now,” Clark says.
“The team we build here will be the at the forefront of leading our scaling efforts as we continue to build RVshare into the leading global RV rental platform.”
The RVshare Austin office is slated to open in January.
