RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Newmar Planning Expansion of Company's Service Facility

151266348522066.jpgNAPPANEE, Ind.—Expansion plans are in the works for Newmar Corporation following the approval of a five-year tax abatement by the Nappanee, Indiana City Council.

Newmar wants to move and expand the company's service facility to a location at 1301 Stahly Drive in Nappanee. Newmar is planning to make a $5,062,000 real property investment and a $2,758,000 personal property investment, including manufacturing equipment, logistics, distribution equipment and informational technology equipment, according to a story by The Goshen News.. The company expects to add at least 13 full-time positions with an average rate of $33.24 per hour, according to the story.

During the council meeting last month, Newmar Vice President of Administration Joe Shoemaker said the company also wants to increase the number of service bays from 35 to 50, according to the story. In doing so, Newmar officials hope to decrease the wait time for the company’s service warranty work and increase its ability to offer extra service and after sales. Newmar will be taking the existing 50,000-square-foot facility and adding 80,000 square feet plus another 28,000 for office space, the story reported.
