Tue Dec 12, 2017

151310072086843.jpgGander Outdoors is the new version of the outdoor goods retail business remade from Camping World's purchase of bankrupted Gander Mountain's store locations and website. Monday, Gander Outdoors posted on Facebook that the reborn retail chain will open its first store location in Lakeville, Minnesota on Wednesday. The posting indicated the message was written by Marcus Lemonis, Camping World CEO.

Lemonis said in Camping World's third-quarter conference call that the current plan for Gander Outdoors is to open 15 to 20 stores by the end of the first quarter, contingent on final lease negotiation. Lemonis also said that an additional 40 stores would follow in the second and third quarters.

When Camping World acquired Gander Mountain's rights and leases in March 2017, the bankrupt outdoor-goods retailer operated in 126 locations.
