Travel Lite Recalls Some Falcon Trailers Because of Wrong Size Hitch

Fri Dec 22, 2017

146522869396754.jpgTravel Lite RV is recalling some 2018 Falcon recreational trailers because the wrong size hitch was installed, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notice.

The recall effects F-23TH and F23-RB trailers, which mistakenly received a 2-inch Class III hitch coupler instead of a 2 5/16-inch Class III hitch coupler, according to NHTSA. Because the 2-inch coupler is under-rated for the gross vehicle weight, the trailer could become unhitched from the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash, according to the recall notice.

The remedy for the recall is still being developed, and Travel Lite has not yet provided a notification schedule, according to NHTSA. Owners can contact Travel Lite customer service at 547-831-3000.
