Travel Lite RV is recalling some 2018 Falcon recreational trailers because the wrong size hitch was installed, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notice.
The recall effects F-23TH and F23-RB trailers, which mistakenly received a 2-inch Class III hitch coupler instead of a 2 5/16-inch Class III hitch coupler, according to NHTSA. Because the 2-inch coupler is under-rated for the gross vehicle weight, the trailer could become unhitched from the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash, according to the recall notice.
The remedy for the recall is still being developed, and Travel Lite has not yet provided a notification schedule, according to NHTSA. Owners can contact Travel Lite customer service at 547-831-3000.
