RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Coachmen Plant Suffers Fire Damage

151544425289527.pngA fire damaged a section of the Coachmen Industries plant in Middlebury, Indiana, Saturday afternoon, but reports in indicate that production facilities were probably unharmed, according to a story in the New Haven Register.

Four area fire departments responded to the scene, which is known as Plant 204 and is located in the 400 block of Main Street, according to the Register.

The cause is not known, but officials said they believe the fire started in a break room in the back of the building. Parts of the break room and office space were destroyed, but 90 percent of the building was reported as saved.

Apparently, no one was in the building when the fire occurred, at about 3 p.m., and the fire remains under investigation.
