RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Rear Safety Introduces Digital Quad View Monitor With Built-In DVR

151560273759524.jpgRear View Safety recently introduced the RVS-3710-DVR 7″ Digital Quad View Color Monitor with Built-in DVR , one of the first new products of the year for the Elkhart, Indiana, company. The monitor assists with turning, backing up and any tricky driving, in addition to recording all cameras connected.

The monitor includes a GPS antenna used to log the vehicle's position and speed as well as an easy-to-use touch screen for navigating the menu and changing options, according to a company press release. Four trigger wires allow the operator to automatically view specific cameras based on user actions, such as viewing the backup camera when the vehicle is put into reverse.
The RVS-3710-DVR supports 720p analog HD cameras, giving the operator more choices when choosing cameras for the monitor. A power harness seamlessly connects the monitor to any five pin cameras.

The monitor also has a USB 2.0 interface. This is used to easily backup footage and for system upgrades. An adjustable G-sensor safeguards important footage with override protection.
