RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Winegard Names New Elkhart OEM Account Manager

151614119227311.jpgJames Witty has been hired as RV OEM account manager for Winegard Company in the Elkhart, Indiana area, according to a press release from the Burlington, Iowa, company. Witty brings 15 years of sales service to help Winegard enhance its level of service and consultative input with its OEM partners, amid considerable growth concerns in the industry.

“We are very excited to welcome James to the Winegard team,” says Winegard RV Business Manager Jennifer Hernandez. “With Winegard’s entrance into the exploding category of cellular and WiFi connectivity, we recognized the need to provide the highest level of service and individual attention to the customer base, necessitating the need for an additional professional sales representative.”

Witty most recently served as Brand Manager for The RV Factory’s Avion Sprinter Class B line and also worked for Nexus RV selling Class A, B and C units. Prior to that, he worked in the medical industry, selling both devices and pharmaceuticals.

Witty makes his home in Middlebury and enjoys playing tennis and coaching his kids youth sports teams.
