RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Flexsteel Post 9.2% Growth in 2nd Quarter

151542707229429.pngFlexsteel Industries, a leading furniture supplier to the RV industry, posted a 9.2 percent increase in net sales for the second quarter of 2018, according to a company press release.

“Net sales were $249.2 million for the six months ended December 31, 2017, an increase of 8.1 percent,” the release states. “For both the quarter and the six-month period, higher residential net sales are primarily due to increased volume and, to a lesser extent, new customers.”

Net sales were $129.4 million for the quarter compared to net sales of $118.5 million in the prior year quarter, says the release, while net income was $6.2 million, compared with $5.4 million. Earnings per share for 2017’s second quarter rose to 78 cents, from the 68 cents reported for the same quarter last year.
