RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

ObeCo Acquires PM Buttons Plus

151751711212065.pngRV and Marine supplier ObeCo, Inc. has purchased all inventory and assets from PM Buttons Inc. of Elkhart, Indiana. PM Buttons Plus is a leading supplier of fabric covered buttons, snaps, tie-down straps, and various additional sewing supplies. PM Buttons has been serving the RV OEM market for over 10 years.

“We are very excited to have this opportunity to broaden our manufacturing capabilities to better serve our customers.” says ObeCo President Jason Obendorf, whose firm is also located in Elkhart. “The acquisition of PM Buttons fits perfectly with our current business model and we believe our customers will greatly benefit from the unique products and services available from ObeCo.”

The move and transition will take place immediately with the projected date for going online with full production by Feb. 12.

“The transition is proceeding very smoothly, and we are confident our new lines will hit the ground running,” Obendorf says. “There will be little to no loss in maintaining the current level of production.”

ObeCo recently moved into a 40,000 square foot facility in Elkhart and has been serving the RV, Marine, Work Truck, and other industries since 1990 with organizational products.
