Chinook Motorcoach Inc. should soon be producing the DREAM, RPM and Riverside trailers, according to an announcement made Friday by the company.
Chinook and Vohne Liche Manufacturing, current producers of the three trailer brands, have signed a letter of intent in which Chinook will acquire “certain specific assets” from Vohne Liche to carry on the production of the brand-name trailers, according to Chinook. Jerry Sell, vice president and general manager of Riverside Travel Trailer Inc. categorized the agreement as an outright acquisition.
The three trailers are the top production lines for Vohne Liche and Kenneth Licklider, president of Vohne Liche in Peru, Indiana will remain a partner investor in Chinook. Licklider says he is pleased to see the VLM brands be incorporated into a larger company with an experienced management team that would help VLM see growth.
The transaction is expected to be finalized this month, according to the announcement, and will increase Chinook manufacturing space to a total of 170,000 square feet. Chinook was formed in September 2017, resurrecting the Chinook RV brand, luxury B Class units, from its Las Vegas, Nevada headquarters.
Phil Rizzio, president of Chinook, says he is thrilled to see the DREAM, Riverside and RPM brands become a part of the Chinook Group; and is looking forward to an exciting 2018 year, including the introduction of other new trailer products.
David Murray, COO with Chinook, says the company is looking forward to helping augment the existing manufacturing processes, to meet the demands for the DREAM, RPM and Riverside trailers.
