RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

DVR Suites, Lance Camper, Jayco, Entegra on NTHSA Recall List

151611783938413.pngDRV Suites (DRV) is recalling 7,465 2014 to 2015 Tradition, 2014 to 2016 Full House, 2006 to 2016 Elite Suites, and 2013 to 2016 Estates fifth wheel travel trailers.
The affected vehicles have front side reflex reflectors located above the maximum height of 60 inches.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Correction:

DRV has notified owners and will provide, free of charge, a new reflector for installation in the correct location. The recall began July 21, 2017. Owners can contact DRV customer service at 260-562-3500. DRV’s number for this recall is 99.02.05.


Lance Camper is recalling 1,164 2018 travel trailers, models 1985, 1995, 2185, 2155, 2295, and 2375.

The battery on the vehicles can move within its compartment while the vehicle is in motion, causing the door to open and allowing the battery to fall out.

Correction:

Lance will notify owners, and dealers, free of charge will install a retrofit strap kit to keep the battery from moving. The recall is expected to begin Thursday. Owners can contact Lance customer service at 661-949-3322.


Jayco is recalling 81 2017, 2018 Eagle 333BHOK travel trailers.
The safety chains on the vehicles are rated at 11,700 pounds, however the GVWR is 12,500 pounds. In the event of a trailer detachment, the underrated safety chains can fail.

Jayco will notify owners, and dealers, free of charge, will install safety chains that have a GVWR of 16,200 pounds. The recall began Feb. 8. Owners can contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9901372.

Jayco is recalling 461 2018 Eagle EA, EB, ED travel trailers.
The Federal Labels and Cargo Carrying Capacity label on the vehicles may incorrectly list the GVWR as 11,750 pounds, when the actual GVWR is 11,700 pounds. As such, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”

Jayco will notify owners and provide them with a corrected label, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Feb. 28. Owners can contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9901373.


Jayco is recalling 26 2018 Eagle travel trailers, model 333BHOK.
The flame on the Furrion cook top can become inverted or go out when the furnace is turned on, however, liquid propane gas will continue to flow to the burners.

Jayco will notify owners, and dealers, free of charge, will install two wood panels to prevent air from the furnace from affecting the stove burners. The recall is expected to begin March 1. Owners can contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9901366.

Jayco is recalling 17 2017 Precept motorhomes.
The brake Hydraulic Electronic Control Units on the vehicles may be missing valve block ball plugs, potentially causing a brake fluid leak or air ingestion during electronic brake distribution and/or ABS activation.

Correction:

Jayco will notify owners, and Ford dealers will inspect the hydraulic block and replace, free of charge, the HECU if the ball plugs are present. The recall is expected to begin March 30. Owners can contact Jayco customer service at 800-517-9137.

Highland Ridge RV is recalling 84 2018 Open Range light travel trailers, model 312BHS.
The Federal Label on the vehicles incorrectly lists the GAWR as 5,100 pounds when the correct GAWR is 4,400 pounds. As such, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”

Correction:

Highland Ridge will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect Federal Label with a corrected label, free of charge. The recall began Feb. 7. Owners can contact Highland Ridge customer service at 260-768-7771. Highland’s number for this recall is 9904374.


Entegra Coach is recalling 393 2015 to 2016 Aspire and 2017 to 2018 Insignia motorhomes built on a Spartan chassis.
The air brake supply reservoir is less than 12 times the combined volume of air for all service brake chambers. As such, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 121, “Air Brake Systems.”

Correction:

Entegra will notify owners, and Spartan service centers, free of charge, will replace the air supply reservoir with one that has twice the capacity. The recall is expected to begin March 30. Owners can contact Spartan Chassis at 800-543-4277 or Entegra customer service at 800-517-9137.

Eclipse RV is recalling 19 2019 Attitude recreational trailers.
The vehicles were equipped with tires that have the incorrect load range.

Correction:

Eclipse will notify owners, and dealers, free of charge, will install tires of the correct load rating. The recall is expected to begin this month. Owners can contact Eclipse customer service at 951-684-6868.


Forest River is recalling five 2018 Georgetown RVs, models GTA36D7 and GTA34P7. The vehicles have 18-gauge wires connected to a 30-amp circuit breaker.

Correction:

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers,, free of charge, will connect the 18-gauge wiring to an additional circuit breaker that will be installed. The recall is expected to begin March 28. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 574-206-7600. Forest River’s number for this recall is 68-0623.

Forest River is recalling 34 2018 Cardinal recreational trailers, models CAF3045RLLE, CAF304SR, CAF322DS and CAF392RD.
The vehicles were manufactured without an emergency exit window in the rear wall of the vehicle.

Correction:

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers, free of charge, will install an emergency exit window. The recall is expected to begin March 28. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 574-206-7600. Forest River’s number for this recall is 15-0626.
