RVDA Canada Members Invited to Drug-Free Workplace Webinar

Mon Feb 19, 2018

151551687751691.pngThe Recreational Vehicle Dealers Association of Canada is reaching out to members interested in participating in a Marijuana, Opioids & Your Workforce webinar being held from from 1 to 2 p.m. EST on Thursday.

"Cannabis (marijuana) remains a Schedule II drug under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act, and, unless otherwise regulated for production and distribution for medical purposes, is subject to offences under that Act," notes a press release from RVDA Canada. "Possessing and selling cannabis for non-medical purposes is still illegal everywhere in Canada."

“With more states legalizing marijuana and the opioid epidemic, employers need to have parameters in place to train, supervise, and provide the necessary tools to ensure a drug-free workplace,” RVDA and the RV Learning Center states.

RV dealer employees attending this webinar will learn about:
• The state of opioid and marijuana use (recreational and medicinal)
• Steps to a drug-free workplace
• Do's and don'ts for supervisors and managers
• Drug tests—random, reasonable, pre-employment

The seminar will be presented by Gregory Arace, an HR consultant at KPA with 17-plus years of human resources experience, ranging from recruitment, benefits, training and development to employee relations. He has a bachelor's in English/journalism from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado.
