Lippert Components Inc. got a nod last week from the Goshen Plan Commission, which is sending a positive recommendation to Goshen City Council regarding the requested rezoning of more than 330 acres targeted for annexation on the city’s southeast side, according to the Goshen News.
“Commission members gave their nod of approval to a request by Lippert Components Manufacturing Inc., D-ACT-Z LLC, Elkhart County 4-H Agricultural Exposition and Norfolk Southern Railway Company for the rezoning of 333 acres to Industrial M-1 should the council ultimately vote to annex the property into the city,” the article says.
“While Tuesday’s vote included a recommendation for rezoning the full 333 acres originally targeted for annexation, Goshen Planning and Zoning Administrator Rhonda Yoder noted the rezoning request will likely only include Lippert’s portion of the property, as the Goshen City Council is currently in the process of exploring the removal of the D-ACT-Z property from the overall annexation request.”
Lippert Components is planning to use its portion of the annexed land for a $20 million facility focused on light manufacturing, research and development with the potential for multiple facilities at the site.
