RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

KVH Posts $1.7 Million Loss in 4th Quarter

152003072397336.pngKVH Industries Inc. (KVHI) on Friday reported a loss of $1.7 million in its fourth quarter, according a report by the Associated Press.

The Middletown, Rhode Island-based company, which makes satellite TV components for the RV industry, said it had a loss of 10 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and amortization costs, were 12 cents per share.

The maker of mobile communication and navigation equipment posted revenue of $39 million in the period. For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $11 million, or 67 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $160.1 million.

For the current quarter ending in April, KVH expects its results to range from a loss of 7 cents per share to a loss of 3 cents per share, the article states, with revenue expectations in the range of $39 million to $41 million for the fiscal first quarter.

KVH expects full-year earnings in the range of 12 cents to 28 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $166 million to $180 million. KVH shares have climbed slightly since the beginning of the year. The stock has remained unchanged over the last 12 months.
