RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Camping World Buys Arkansas Dealership

145434773794726.pngCamping World Holdings has agreed to buy River City Recreation World in Sherwood, Arkansas, According to a press release, the purchase is part of a corporate growth plan for Camping World, which is planning additional purchases in other regional U.S. markets.

River City augments two other Arkansas locations Camping World owns in Lowell and North Little Rock. The new acquisition extends Camping World's presence in Arkanas to three RV SuperCenters.

“We will actively pursue opportunities in our existing markets over the next few years to expand market share, grow our database and add additional distribution points for our products and services,” says Brent Moody, chief operating officer of Camping World Holdings. “The addition of River City RV will accomplish all three objectives and add a top dealer in the state of Arkansas.”
