In the next few weeks, there will some big changes at Lake Meredith in Sanford, Texas, including a new dock for fishing and an RV park.

Lake Meredith is a reservoir formed by Sanford Dam on the Canadian River about 30 miles northeast of Amarillo.

The RV park will have 10 sites with electrical and water hook-ups at Lake Meredith in the Sanford-Yake area, according to Fox 4 News.

The park expects visitors to be able to make reservations by May 1.

"The Sanford-Yake area is just our busiest area, there is a bait shop down there so it does get a lot of traffic," Chief Park Ranger Paul Jones told Fox 4. "Last crappie season, we noticed the dock filled up pretty quick, so more slip area, so slips for 20boats, so more fishing area."

Along with the new amenities, work is also continuing on trails in the park for bikers and hikers. Several summer events are planned, including movies at the lake and fireworks in July.
