The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

With only a couple of months left before the 2018 RV/MH Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, honoring the Class of 2018, Darryl Searer, president of the RV/MH Heritage Foundation, is encouraging friends and colleagues of this year's inductees, to make their reservations now to be part of the festivities.
The RV/MH Heritage Foundation will formally recognize the distinguished careers and lifetime achievements of our industries' most notable individuals at the 2018 Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Monday, August 6th at the Northern Indiana Event Center in Elkhart.
This year's class includes outstanding five members of the RV industry and another six from the manufactured housing industry.
The RV industry inductees include Derald Bontrager, Jayco Corporation; Roger Faulkner, General Coach Canada; Gregg Fore, Dicor Corporation; Rebecca (Becky) Lenington, Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association; Daniel R Pearson; Pleasureland RV.
On the manufactured housing side, the inductees include Michael A. Cirillo, Star Management: Darrel Cohron and Harrel Cohron (deceased), Cohron's Manufactured Homes; John Evans, California Manufactured Housing Institute (CMHI); Gub Mix, Idaho, Utah, Nevada and Arizona State MH Associations; Bill Wilson, Cherry Hill Homes, Inc.
"Everyone is welcome so we hope to see a large turnout for these honorees," Searer says, noting that more than 100 people have already signed up. "Make a day of it by also signing up for our Annual Golf Classic Fundraiser hosted by Christiana Creek Country Club in Elkhart in the morning of Aug. 6. The event kicks off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and then caps off with a luncheon and awards presentation following golf."
Searer says the Hall of Fame is still seeking sponsors for the various induction dinner events as well as for the golf tournament.
