A motorhome company in the U.K., St. Andrews Motorhomes in Cupar, has folded, leaving dozens of devastated customers without their RVs and thousands of dollars out of pocket.
Retired paramedics Carol and Robert Moore say they're out £32,000 from when their RV was sold by St. Andrews Motorhomes and they were never paid for the sale, the Daily Record Reports.
The Moores say that despite receiving confirmation that the motorhome had been sold to a firm in Exeter two months ago, they have not received a penny.
St Andrews Owner Christine Galloway did not return calls to the press.
“There are scores of us in the same boat now," Carol Moore says. "The motorhome was sold for just over £27,000 but we were being told we would be getting £32,000 so something doesn’t add up. Other customers have been to the police but have been told it is a civil matter. We are all in limbo and are absolutely sick to the stomach over this.”
The company's attorney says a court petition to dissolve the 20-year-old business is still being processed.
